NIVA in Antarctica The ordinary Niva worked in Antarctica for 15 years, at the Bellingshausen station. In 1989 the Volga automobile plant decided to conduct long-term tests of the VAZ-2121 in extreme conditions of Antarctica. In 1990 the car which underwent a small technical revision, was sent to the Russian polar station "Bellingshausen", becoming, according to sources, the first wheeled vehicle operating in Antarctica. After the tests Niva remained at the station at the request of scientists and continued to operate.
Future without going out from the car.
Only these words can describe the amazement of Soviet car drivers. However the history of this future is sad enough... In the beginning of 80-s Avtovaz managed to deal with the industrial concern "Autopribor" and the factory "Izmeritel" about introduction of innovative construction changes and equipment of cars. After all tests in the year 1984 the first batch of 1500 electronic panels KEP 43.501 for VAZ-21093-03 come from Izmeritel factory.
Each LADA is individual so even though the kit manufacturer declares the kit is "bolt-on", some modifications might be required.

The launch of the SUV Niva production line was in the year 1977. The new model VAZ 2121 was functional, comfortable and cheap enough. They got up the main production, based on the good demand of population, till the year 1980. The applications for cars were coming from different parts of the world. 1978 the export modification VAZ 21211 (1.3L) was created for South Europe, where were high taxes for engine's volume and expensive fuel. And for English market RHD modification VAZ 21212 was released.

The year of production is approximately 1986
Firstly E.Tumaliavichus/P.Videika, and then Vitautas Sabaotaitis /Arūnas Bukmanas were driving this car. And only after this the car was going to win rally cross. Honestly speaking we don't know exactly their achievements, but the car was taken out onto countryside place and left near a tree for around 20 years till it was founded by one empathic man. The process of restoration took 3 years. Our respect to the owner!
The booklet shows the full range of accessories which could be implemented on Lada 1200 estate (sedan) or Saloon (universal). It is said about 6 months guarantee for each adjustment. Seats could be covered with one of four color. The original names are Safir (on the top left), Scot (on the top right), Clan (on the bottom left), Luxus (on the bottom right). There were also offered a sport leather-covered three-spoke handle bar.
